SEGWAE Performing Arts Theater was born out of a necessity to educate and engage children who are inspired to reach their full potential through the performing arts industry. Children learn through play and hands on activities more so than paper and pencil. Six years ago, I was inspired by a dream, as a tenured educator, to develop a center that would serve youth in the Detroit area.

SEGWAE Performing Arts Theater will use the arts, educational services, and activities to develop skills that raise academic achievement and social awareness of Metro-Detroit youth while providing opportunities for them to become self-sufficient, contributing citizens in society.
